All that you touch, All that you see, All that you taste, All you feel.

Pull the Trigger and Embrace your Age

My favourite character in Star Wars wasn’t Luke, or Darth Vader.  Twasn’t princess Leah or Jabba the Hutt either.

And as much as I am tempted to hope that if there is such a thing as reincarnation, I would come back as someone like the dashing and daring Hans Solo, driving the 27th century’s version of the fastest sports car in the galaxy, I know in my heart, as I sit here behind this microphone, that I at the end of the day, I would only want to be Yoda.

That’s right.  I would only want to be the little greenish man with the deep wrinkles and sparse hair who was over 800 years old.

Why?  Because he embraced and unconditionally accepted his age.

Isn’t that why somehow we always felt calm and happy is a quiet kind of way when we listened to his wisdom?

Deep down, wasn’t there a part of you that yearned to feel Yoda’s kind spiritual embrace of his years?

Methinks that because he didn’t waste his time thinking about his grey hair or the tone of his skin, he was able to do other things – like lift a spaceship out of the swamp with a steady hand and a focused brain.

But remember, even though Yoda was over 800 years old, he was also a very playful guy too.

Maybe here again, because he didn’t spend time thinking about how he needed to change his wardrobe to look younger, he was able to keep working out, staying fit and juggle stones in the air without touching them.

It’s time to pull the trigger.

As Jacques Clouseau would say, “out with the bad air, in with the good”.

Is fighting the battle against your grey hair exhausting you?  You know it is.  Is it winning?  Yes it is.  Is it time to let it?  Yes.  “I surrender”.

Are you smile-lines refusing to discount the joys and sorrows you’ve experienced in your “longish” life.  Yes they are, so let them dance and sing on that beautiful perfect face of yours.

And women take it from this man, and I am all man and I’m telling you the truth.  MEN DO NOT CARE ABOUT GREY HAIR AND WRINKLES!!!  We only care about things like, “will you? (fill in the blank) or can you now?” (fill in the blank)…..

Pull the trigger on your attitude, and find your own Yoda-centre so you can one day lift your car out of the ditch on the side of highway 401, with the wave of your hand, the furrow of your brilliant aging brow.
